The "Guardastelle" Cultural Association was founded in Acireale (CT) by Paolo Filippini, who wanted to create a Theatre School for children and young people. He was driven by the strong belief that young people should have the opportunity to test themselves and express themselves through the study of artistic disciplines.
Shortly after its founding, the initiative of its members, spurred by the positive engagement of its members and the consistent demand for new workshops, has ensured that the drama school has become a meeting place and a place for exploring beauty, aiming to sharpen spirits, build relationships between individuals, and foster well-being among the students.
The success of the activities conducted by the highly qualified faculty and the versatility of the artists in theater, choreography, and music provided the initial impetus for further activities aimed at children with disabilities. Thus, "Inclusion Theater" was born, a privileged space for redeeming and giving voice to silent otherness, through a continuous discovery, acceptance, and expansion of the beauty of difference. A "difference" seen as an invaluable asset, against and above other inequalities, be they ethnic, social, or cultural.
"It is diversity that makes man a work of art… unrepeatable."
Theater plays a fundamental role in the growth of children and young people. It provides effective pedagogical support for personal development through the use of all artistic languages that allow for greater self-awareness.
The Association is a constantly evolving organization that boasts considerable recognition in the field of public education and collaborates with various schools of all levels throughout the Sicilian provinces to create, promote, and disseminate theatrical and animated performances.
Today, the Guardastelle Association boasts renowned teachers and artists, united by the common poetic goal of spreading a culture of "know-how," the fruit of years of experience in various fields.
The workshops are open to all audiences: those passionate about theater, dance, music, and the arts in general, those who wish to embark on the magnificent journey of artistic education through serious and in-depth study, and those with a curious spirit who have always wanted to try their hand at activities like those offered by the Association, which draw on imagination, creativity, and expressive languages that are different from the norm.
